Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan share warm camaraderie at the ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ press conference | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan are two of the biggest stalwarts in Indian Cinema and bringing them together on the big screen has been a dream for many, but only few have been able to pull off this coup. Director Nag Ashwin is one of them with his upcoming film Kalki 2898 AD. The film also stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead.
The makers of the film recently released the first look of the same at the San Diego Comic-Con International, present at the event were Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Rana Daggubati, Nag Ashwin and a few others with Amitabh Bachchan joining via video conferencing.
As Kamal was talking about how great it is working with Prabhas and Rana and Amitabh Bachchan, Big B interrupted him via video conference and said “Stop being so modest Kamal, you are much much greater than all of us.” He also went on to add that, “The kind of work Kamal has done is very difficult to believe , each one of his film has been filled with so much reality and so much effort. It is an honor to be in the same film as you .. we’ve done a couple ( Giraftaar and Khabardar) of them , this one is going to be very special.”
To this, Kamal revealed, “I was an assistant director on Sholay. I couldn’t sleep the night I watched it because I hated the film so much. I hated the filmmaker even more. I had the opportunity of working with a great filmmaker and that was my reaction and I told him. As a technician, I couldn’t sleep that night and Amitji has done many such movies. Him saying nice things about my films is something I had never imagined when i was an assistant director and watching Sholay on the big screen.”
