Amit Sadh says he wanted to quit acting after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death – Times of India

Amit Sadh and Sushant Singh Rajput made their Bollywood debuts together in ‘Kai Po Che’. The camaraderie between the two actors was quite evident off-screen and even on-screen since the film was largely about the friendship between these three boys. The film also starred Rajkummar Rao.

In a recent interview, Amit recalled that Sushant and him were lovers during the filming of ‘Kai Po Che’. Which is why he was deeply shaken when Sushant passed away in 2020. Amit spoke about Sushant in a chat with Chetan Bhagat on his podcast. Amit admitted that he was so affected that he wanted to quit the industry.

Amit further confessed that he could understand the mindset of a person who commits suicide because he’s also attempted to commit suicide at the age of 16 and 18. Having said that, his life his good now. Everything has changed and he’s a stronger person. Amit said, “I know the psyche of that person. Someone dies by suicide when there is complete darkness in their life. And when there is complete darkness in someone’s life, it is not their fault, it is the society’s fault. Those around them are to be blamed because they did not care enough and someone felt so hopeless, this has happened with me, that one”

He added that he tried to got in touch with Sushant before he passed away. “3-4 months before he passed away, I spoke to someone who knows him and asked for his number. I said I will talk to him because we were all hearing things. There was no number. That person told me he had shut himself completely and his number was changed. A voice inside me told me that what will happen, he will get upset, I will just drop by his house. When that person told me no, I also did not chase him. We all get busy, then that guilt… I don’t know if it is guilt, it is a kind of love,” confessed Amit.

Sadh was last seen in ‘Breathe Into The Shadows’ season 2.
