Amidst divorce rumours, Shoaib Malik calls Sania Mirza an ‘inspiration for many’ after her last Grand Slam – Times of India

As Sania Mirza and her partner Rohan Bopanna went down 6-7 (2) 2-6 to the Brazilian pair of Luisa Stefani and Rafael Mataos in the final tennis match at the Australian Open to finish as runners-up of the mixed doubles event, Sania’s cricketer husband Shoaib Malik too to social media to share an appreciation post for her.
Sania and Shoaib have been in the limelight for a couple of months over rumours of their separation. So Shoaib’s post came as a pleasant surprise to fans after the match. He wrote, “You are the much-needed hope for all the women in sports. Super proud of you for all you have achieved in your career. You’re an inspiration for many, keep going strong. Many congratulations on an unbelievable career…”

Sania Mirza broke into tears after the match that was her last Grand slam. The tennis player however announced that this is not the absolute end of her career as she is planning to play a couple of tournaments more. She said, “If I cry, these are happy tears. That’s just a disclaimer. I’m still going to play a couple of more tournaments,” said Sania holding back her tears.

Amid the divorce rumours, Sania and Shoaib were seen on their talk show The Mirza Malik Show. It is being said that the two are just fulfilling their work commitments and co-parenting their con Izhaan. Earlier, reports suggested that Shoaib allegedly cheated on Sania with Pakistani actress-model Ayesha Omar, who later cleared the air saying that they are just good friends.

Sania and Shoaib have been married since 2010 and the couple welcomed Izhaan in 2018.
