Actress Ameesha Patel has been in the news recently but not for the right reasons. She recently appeared before a court in Jharkhand, Ranchi and pleaded not guilty in the 2018 cheque bounce case. The actress was spotted arriving at the court amid tight security .
The case of fraud, intimidation and cheque bounce against Ameesha and her partner Kunal Goomer has been filed by Jharkhand based producer Ajay Kumar Singh.According to Singh, he gave Rs 2.5 crores to Ameesha and Kunal for their film ‘Desi Magic‘ and the deal was that the two of them will return the money along with interest after the completion of the film.But after multiple delays and excuses the duo were unable to pay. In 2018 Ameesha then gave Singh 2 cheques, one of 50 lakhs and another for 2.5 crores, both were dishonored by the bank. Thus forcing Singh to file a complaint at Argora Police Station in Ranchi against the actress
Initially, Ameesha Patel and her lawyer did not appear before the court despite being summoned and later a warrant was issued against her. She was due to appear in court on June 21, but couldn’t do so because of prior commitments.
On the professional front, Ameesha Patel is going all out for the promotions of ‘Gadar 2’, co-starring Sunny Deol. This film is a sequel to their 2001 hit flick ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’.
