Ameesha Patel claims her contemporaries snatched films under her nose as they were jealous of her success | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Ameesha Patel made her Bollywood debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in Rakesh Roshan’s 2000 film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and they both became an overnight star. In a new interview, Ameesha said that her contemporaries who belonged to filmy families, were jealous of her success.
She told Bollywood Hungama that when she entered the film industry, she was only paired with actors’ kids or producers’ kids such as Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Tushar Kapoor, Esha Deol and Fardeen Khan among others.
While she was the outsider, a south Bombay girl, there was always a film family third generation person coming in. She added that she was called a snob because she was the educated outsider who used to read books on sets and gossip.
After seeing her and Hrithik becoming the heartthrob of the nation overnight followed by Gadar, Badri and other films down south, Ameesha said that her contemporaries could not handle her success being an outsider without a godfather.

She then claimed that her contemporaries snatched films under her nose out of jealousy. She could not understand how she was being replaced all of a sudden after signing for the film and later seeing a different actor taking her place on the set.
Meanwhile, directed by director-Producer Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. The movie is scheduled to release in cinemas on August 11 2023.
