The third-gen generation of Fire TV Cube comes with a new 2.0 GHz octa-core processor, which makes it 20% more powerful than its predecessor, and boosts app launch speeds.
It comes with support for up to 4K Ultra HD and also supports Dolby Vision, HDR, and Dolby Atmos. Amazon has brought a new “Super Resolution Upscaling,” which promises to upscale HD photos and videos into 4K.
Compared to the previous-gen Cube, the new Fire TV Cube features both HDMI input and output; so you can use the Cube with devices other than TV, such as set-top boxes. Other connectivity options include an IR extender, a USB-A slot, and an ethernet port. There is also support for Wi-Fi 6E, which is the first for Fire TV Cube.
The new design comes fabricated with curved edges, with speakers all the way around, which now offers improved audio quality compared to the previous generation.
