Already-depressed Red Sox fans still can’t handle Ryan Brasier

The Boston Red Sox are giving fans several reasons to lose hope this season. Ryan Brasier and Alex Verdugo gave yet another one on Tuesday night.

Disappointing is an understatement to describe the Boston Red Sox this season. The team is giving fans new reasons seemingly every day to lose hope, with the most recent being the duo of Ryan Brasier and Alex Verdugo.

On Tuesday night, the Red Sox got crushed by the Minnesota Twins in a 10-5 loss. Though it’s not unusual for Boston to lose this season, they had recovered from a three-run deficit before falling apart and losing their lead.

Verdugo made an error, which led to four runs against in the fifth inning, and Brasier wasn’t able to help much on the mound to close out the game. Brasier hit Jose Miranda on his first pitch and loaded the bases. Then, Twins outfielder Nick Gordon hit a grand slam to drive in four runs.

The game was certainly a tough one for Red Sox fans to watch.

Boston Red Sox aren’t likely to make the playoffs this season

According to FanGraphs, the Red Sox have a 0.7 percent chance of making the playoffs through a Wild Card spot. That percentage goes down on a nightly basis these days.

Less than 24 hours after Brasier’s downfall, fans want to see him DFA’d. If the Red Sox want a shot at the playoffs, they need to adjust their roster a lot.

One fan said it won’t be a good day because Brasier is still on the team.

Another fan Tweeted the grand slam and stated, “I’m trying to understand why Ryan Brasier is still on the Red Sox roster this morning?”

Boston has had bullpen meltdowns all season, but this may have been the worst one. Hopefully this will be a wake-up call for Chaim Bloom to give money where it’s due and put together a championship-level team.
