Ally McCoist in hilarious Celtic celebrations rant as Chris Sutton pops back
ALLY MCCOIST has delivered a cheeky dig towards Celtic’s fans amid their wild celebrations at Ross County on Wednesday night.
But Hoops hero Chris Sutton didn’t take long to hit back at the Rangers legend.
Ange Postecoglou’s ten-men scored a last-second winner in Dingwall during midweek, with Anthony Ralston nodding home in the 97th-minute.
The goal sparked a pitch invasion, with fans spilling on to the pitch from the away end.
And Rangers icon McCoist has taken his chance while speaking on BT Sport’s Scottish Football Extra to have a go at the supporters for “over-celebrating”.
In his usual jovial fashion, popular pundit McCoist joked about the way the fans invaded the pitch amid the wild scenes.
This is of course something Sutton has mocked Rangers fans of doing in previous seasons.
So, McCoist wasn’t going to let his opportunity pass-by to have a go back.

He said: “I’ve got my stop watch just to make sure this show doesn’t go beyond 30 minutes. Say, like an extra seven or eight minutes.
“I’ve got to say by the way, what about that Sutton giving me stick about the Rangers supporters over-celebrating at Partick Thistle?
“Deary, deary me. Did anybody see those celebrations at Ross County? Second-bottom of the league, god help us if they beat someone in the top six. Oh my god!
“What’s going to happen if Celtic beat somebody in the top six? Are they going to have a Mardi Gras? Will it be VE celebrations again, Victory in Europe 1945?
“Will there be fireworks shooting off Sydney Harbour? Got help us, what’s going to happen?”
To be fair to Sutton, he certainly saw the funny side to the rant. But he did take the chance to have a pop back – claiming Rangers are in “trouble”.
He replied: “It was a Christmas miracle, wasn’t it? Ralston rising, Celtic down to ten men,” Sutton said.
“It kept Celtic in the title race. It was a massive, massive goal.
“It tells you a lot about Celtic that McCoist is moaning and complaining. He knows that Rangers are in a bit of trouble.
“Once Celtic reinforce in January, Rangers are in trouble. They just need to hang in there. They barely have any players, they get a player sent off, and they still find the spirit under big Ange to win the game. Incredible scenes.”
