Interestingly, August 11 is also the current release date for Alia’s husband, Ranbir Kapoor’s film titled ‘Animal’. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed crime drama is expected to hit theatres worldwide this August. The film will also enjoy a wide release in five languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
According to Netflix executive Ori Marmur, ‘Heart Of Stone’ is said to be on par with the action franchises like Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impopssible’ and Matt Damon’s ‘Bourne’. “Those movies always have men at the centre of them. This has two strong women in Gal Gadot and Alia Bhatt who are in the middle of things. Along with Jamie Dornan, they form a central trio,” Marmur said in a statement.
The movie directed by Tom Harper, also stars Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighofer, Jing Lusi, and Paul Ready in addition to Gal, Jamie, and Alia.
Ranbir’s ‘Animal’, on the other hand, will reportedly revolve around a father-son story. Producer Bhushan Kumar revealed that the gangster drama will have a strong emotional connection and will centre around “what all a character does for his father.”
The film’s cast also features Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and Tripti Dimri in pivotal roles.
