Alia Bhatt will not change her screen name after marriage, confirms she will add ‘Kapoor’ to her passport – Times of India

In April this year, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot in private ceremony hosted in the balcony of their plush Bandra home. The couple soon plunged into film commitments and Alia revealed she hasn’t got a chance to add ‘Kapoor’ to her name legally.

The actress revealed that her constant professional commitments have delayed her plans to add Kapoor surname to her documents. The actress told a news portal that Ranbir Kapoor has ‘promptly’ changed his marital status on his passport. Now that they are going to have a baby too, Alia told mid-day that she doesn’t want to be a ‘Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are traveling together’ and that she doesn’t want to feel left out. However the actress added that she will not be changing her screen name.

Ranbir and Alia announced in June that they are expecting their first child. The couple faced a lot of trolling on social media for the same. Reacting to the negativity around her pregnancy, Alia had told ETimes, “It was a beautiful experience. There was so much love and positivity. We received so much warmth. When you talk about the noisy people, that I expected because every beautiful thing has a detractor. Chaand pe bhi daag hai. I wasn’t surprised by the negative reactions nor was I bothered by them. I feel these things originate from a very stupid and shallow space. I remember only the good things and there’s still so much love coming in. Why not focus on the positivity instead of focussing on a few nonsensical eyebrows.”
