She went on to explain, “You might think you can do everything and nothing will suffer. You might be able to do everything, but your peace of mind will probably suffer. And I think that’s what happens very often because I want to be present with everything personally, and I want to be present professionally. But, in the bargain, I’m taking no time out for myself, giving myself no thought. So, I think it’s about trying to choose your biggest priority at that moment.”
The actress, who made her film debut in Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ in 2012 the actress also reflected on how her life has changed over the past decade. “I think there was a time when I was willing to make sacrifices of all kinds – of sleep and time with my family – and just continuously work and shoot,” she said and sharing her views about the future, she said, “Now I have a family. I have a daughter. I have a husband. I also feel like all these 10 years, this time I did not spend with my parents, with my sister, with my friends – I want to be able to do that.”
Speaking about her film and career choices over the past decade, she said, “For the longest time, I was actually just saying ‘yes’ to whatever I got. I’m happy that I did not try and manipulate my choices; I just went with the flow and did what scared me, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.”
On the work front, Alia is set to release her film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani‘ which will hit screens on July 28. She will also make her Hollywood film debut in Heart Of Stone which will release online on August 11.
