Alia Bhatt opens up on protecting Raha’s privacy: We don’t even want to post her pictures on social media – Times of India

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their first child, a baby girl, named Raha on November 6, last year. At that time, the couple had made a special request to the paparazzi to not click Raha’s pictures and respect their daughter’s privacy. It’s been nearly 6 months now and they are yet to reveal the face of their little angel.
In a new interview, Alia opened up about protecting Raha’s privacy and said that she has been very clear that she and Ranbir don’t want Raha to be in the public eye. She said that they don’t even want to post her pictures on social media and they don’t feel comfortable with any kind of conversation around their little baby.

However, Alia loves being referred to as Raha’s mommy and that’s all she is okay with right now. She said that she is very protective about the people she loves, adding that she genuinely doesn’t think that a baby needs to be a public personality.
Alia understands that though she and Ranbir are public figures, they have to be practical as individuals in the public eye. She said that the paparazzi are like her work family and they have been very respectful. She recalled how all the photographers put their cameras away at the airport when they had returned to Mumbai from London last month. “Not a single picture of Raha was circulated,” she said.

When Alia and Ranbir had travelled to London to ring in her 30th birthday, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress loved walking with Raha carefree in public because it’s impossible to take her outdoors in Mumbai. “Nobody really knows us there so it was much more peaceful and I didn’t have to be as vigilant as I do in Bombay,” she added.

Earlier, Ranbir had spoken about protecting Raha’s privacy and said that they do not want to go overboard with it as they want Raha to have a normal upbringing, to go to school, to not make her feel too special or different around other children.
