Alexandra Daddario Wore Danielle Frankel for Her Laid-Back Wedding in New Orleans

Because of their intense work schedules, they hired a wedding planner to help them every step of the way. “Michelle Norwood was incredible and pushed us when we were too distracted by life and work,” the bride says. “I planned a lot of the wedding from set, or from bed after a night shoot. Michelle was wonderful and made sure Andrew and I had everything we needed on a very tight schedule.”

Alexandra turned to Danielle Frankel for her dress. “I fell in love with Danielle Frankel’s dresses,” she says. “I followed them on Instagram. They sent me a message, and we chatted, and when I went to their studio, I just felt beautiful in everything. I chose my dress because it felt like it belonged in New Orleans and was the right choice for the Louisiana heat.”

Accessories and wedding-day beauty were kept light and easy. “I wanted it to feel like it all worked in the heat too,” Alexandra says. “Nothing too heavy or serious.”

Andrew picked a Brunello Cuccinelli pinstripe suit from the brand to wear on his wedding day. “I am constantly stealing his button downs to wear with jeans, and they are always Brunello,” Alexandra says. “He ultimately chose a beautiful, not-too-serious suit that worked for a New Orleans wedding in the middle of June.”

The wedding took place at Preservation Hall. “We were trying to achieve a laid-back aesthetic,” Alexandra explains. “We loved the look of Preservation Hall—it was so old, so historic, it lets its age and ‘flaws’ show. That’s what makes it so beautiful. We wanted it to be about music, drinking, and authentic New Orleans.” To that end, they kept the ceremony simple. “We said vows, cried, and Andrew’s children were his groomsmen and ring bearers,” Alexandra says. “We wanted to keep the ceremony itself short so people could have a dose of love and then get back to the music and catching up.”

After the ceremony, a New Orleans second line led the couple and their guests through the French Quarter to Bar Marilou for the reception, where there were cheeseburgers, tarot card readings, and a dance party that went until the bar had to close.
