Alert! Just check out this Instagram app SECRET move; see how you are affected

Instagram has removed an important feature without telling users what it did.

In a secret move, Meta owned photo sharing app Instagram has just removed an important feature without letting users know about it! Social media tech giant has reportedly removed the ability for its users to limit their daily usage of the app to less than 30 minutes. As of now, the app has a user-defined limit for as low as 15 minutes, or even 10 minutes per day. The social media tech giant was “making a big PR push to suggest more ‘mindful’ usage of its services.

According to the Mac Rumours, in the latest app update, the ‘Set daily time limit’ menu option has a new minimum of 30 minutes option, while the radio button next to the maximum of three hours is pre-selected in the menu card.

Instagram Set daily data limit feature was launched in 2018

In 2018, the platform had introduced a “Set a daily time limit” feature with a reminder to be sent when that time limit is reached. This feature was quite useful for those who wanted to cut down on their social media usage. The users were enabled to select a time limit as low as ten or even five minutes a day. However, now the minimum time limit has been increased to 30 minutes and this means such short durations are no longer possible. So, after the update, users can see the new limits from 30 minutes, 45 minutes, one hour, two hours, to three hours.

Just a few months back Instagram introduced its ‘Take a Break’ feature that allowed users to opt-in to receive periodic reminders if they’ve been on the app for longer.

Meanwhile, Instagram has recently rolled out a new Story Like feature that will allow users to like a story without cluttering their DM. This means if you like anyone’s photo/videos shared in Instagram stories, it won’t show up in chat. It would be shown users’ viewer sheet similar to the one where you see the likes and comments shared by others on a user’s post.
