Akshay Kumar’s ‘Saugandh’ co-star Shanti Priya set to make her Bollywood comeback after 28-year hiatus: Report – Times of India
According to reports, Shanti will be making her comeback with a biopic of Sarojini Naidu. The film will reportedly be released in four languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. The report also added that Sarojini Naidu’s younger days will be played by actress Sonal Monteiro, Shanti Priya will be essaying her senior years.
Speaking about getting into the skin of her character and gaining weight for the same, Shanti told Dainik Jagran that she is happy that this film is being made in four languages. With this, the story of Sarojini Naidu will reach a large number of viewers. She also went on to add that by working on this biopic, she understood the process of working in new ways in the film industry. According to her, Sarojini had a strong personality, so she has been working hard to fit into her character.
Elaborating further, Shanti added that she had to increase about 10-12 kg of weight. According to her, energy comes automatically when the work is challenging. The actress revealed that she has missed the big screen a lot. With the time that she has lost by being away from it, she is going to make up for it by working hard on this film.
Directed by Vinay Chandra, the film also features Hiten Tejwani, who will be seen portraying Sarojini Naidu’s husband Govind and evergreen actress Zarina Wahab, who has been roped in to play the freedom fighter’s mother Varada Sundari Devi.
