Akshay Kumar reacts to his consecutive flops; says, ‘Do not blame the audience or anyone else, it is 100 % my fault’ – Times of India
At a recent event, Akshay said that when his films do not work back to back, it is time to sit back, reflect and change himself. His last film that worked well at the box office was Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi that released in 2021.
When asked his views about his consecutive four flop films in a row, Akshay said to Aaj Tak that this is not happening with him for the first time. There was a time in his career when he had 16 consecutive flops. There was another time when he had eight films in a row that tanked.
Akshay remarked that it happens due to ‘your own fault’. Since the audience has changed, stars need to change as well. He added that when your films flop in a row, it is an alarm for you to change. “Mai koshish kar raha hun, wahi kar sakta hoon (I am trying to change, that is all I can do). Do not blame the audience or anyone else. It is my fault, 100%,” he was quoted saying.
After poor opening for Selfiee, netizens are questioning Akshay’s choice of films as he has had back-to-back flops lately including Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Setu. Up next, he has films like OMG: Oh My God 2, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Soorarai Pottru remake, Capsule Gill, bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Hera Pheri 4 in the pipeline.
