Akshay Kumar on ‘Raksha Bandhan’ versus ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ clash: It is good for our industry that both films work – Times of India

While Aamir wished the best for both the films, Akshay Kumar also hoped that ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ shine at the box office. He recently said, “I think it is good because it is good for our industry that both films work and work very well. Holidays are coming. There are 4 consecutive holidays in the week and I suppose no significant film is releasing next week. I wish both films do well because that is what our industry wants and wants forever.” Previously Aamir had said about the clash, “I hope both the films do well. I have seen the trailer of Raksha Bandhan and I really liked it. I was asking do we make films that are relevant. Here is a film that is relevant. It is a film of a common man who does have problems of economic issues.”

Both the films have recorded average collection in advance booking. Current trends suggests that ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is expected to record an opening of around Rs 10-15 crore nett, while ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is also expected to earn in the same range on its first day at the box office.
