Akshay Kumar is flying to London and here’s why – Exclusive – Times of India

ETimes had reported FIRST and EXCLUSIVE that if all goes well, the man who will direct the Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Sky Force’, produced by Dinesh Vijan, is Sandeep Kewlani. Well, it’s final. Kewlani it is.

‘Akshay has always encouraged young and new directors in his career and this movie will be Kelwani’s first assignment as a director. Akshay loved the script and did not take long to say ‘yes’ and Vijan is also buoyant about working with Akshay. Vijan’s Maddock Films’ team is going all out on the film and are visibly excited about it. As on date, the shooting dates have not yet been fully finalised but it should happen soon.

Kewlani is a writer who worked as an Associate Director in the Amitabh Bachchan-Ajay Devgn-Rakul Preet Singh flick ‘Runway 34’. The upcoming Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Bholaa’ has been penned by Kewlani.

Kumar plays the role of an Indian Air Force officer in ‘Sky Force’. It’s an aviation based film, set in the period times, revisiting and celebrating one of the biggest victories of the Indian Air Force,’ we had published.

The new update on ‘Sky Force’ is that its shoot is kicking off in May-end in London. The modalities have been worked out and it’s going to be a fairly longish schedule. So yeah, that’s why Akshay Kumar will be off to London in May for some days.

‘Sky Force’ will hit theatres in 2024.
