Akshay Kumar admits ‘The Kashmir Files’ has destroyed ‘Bachchhan Paandey’s box office run – Times of India

Akshay Kumar has heaped praise on Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’. Released on March 11, the film is having a sensational run breaking so many box office records and also its worldwide success has received appreciation from all corners. Now, sharing his thoughts on the stupendous success of ‘The Kashmir Files’, Akshay Kumar admitted the Vivek Agnihotri film literally destroyed his film ‘Bachchhan Paandey’.

While attending an event in Bhopal, Akshay Kumar also claimed that ‘The Kashmir Files’ has highlighted a bitter truth. He feels that the film is like a blessing, but at the same time, it hugely impacted his film Bachchhan Paandey’s box office run.

While ‘The Kashmir Files’ has raked in more than Rs 200 crore at the box office, ‘Bachchhan Paandey’ has seen a relatively dull response from the audience.

The film, based on the tragic incidents of the Kashmiri Pandit exodus in the 1990s and the subsequent genocide, released in theatres on March 11 and since then netizens have been showering love on it. Many are saying this is one such film that honestly uncovers a lot of untold stories buried deep inside the country’s history and at the same time makes people question the system.

Meanwhile, ‘Bachchhan Paandey’, directed by Farhad Samji, revolves around an intense story of a goon called Bachchhan Paandey whose life changes forever as Myra Deveka starts making a documentary on his life. Apart from Akshay, the film also has Jacqueline Fernandez, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar, Abhimanyu Singh, Snehal Daabbi and Saharsh Kumar Shukla in key roles.
