The case come on the sidelines of Sundar Pichai getting awarded the Padma Bhushan alongside Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and 15 other awardees this year. Both Nadella and Pichai were awarded for their contribution to the world of trade and industry.

The Film Director Suneel Darshan says in his complaint said that Google allowed unauthorised persons to upload his film ‘Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha’ on YouTube. He adds that he has not sold his film to anyone or released it yet. However, due to the illegal upload, it is currently online on YouTube and has already garnered a million views.

Darshan also says that he complained to YouTube for the illegal upload of his film but the latter did not address the concerns . As a result, he was forced to take it up with the authorities.

In a statement to Bollywood Life, Darshan said, “I am not trying to gain publicity at all. I am only trying to put facts on record. I don’t intend anything more than that. As a filmmaker and a copyright owner, I have certain rights and when you mercilessly infringe them, then what should I do? I am a helpless person.”
