Adipurush row: Kriti Sanon focuses on the ‘cheers and claps’ amid nationwide protests | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Adipurush, a retelling of the Ramayana directed by Om Raut, has been facing massive backlash over its pedestrian language, poor VFX and objectionable representation of Hindu gods. While the film has already been banned in Nepal and continue to face nationwide protests in India, Kriti Sanon, who played Janaki (Sita), has decided to focus on the cheers and claps in theatres instead of heavy criticism.
Taking it to Instagram, Kriti shared several videos from the cinema halls where people were heard cheering and clapping while watching Adipurush. “Focusing on the cheers and claps! ♥️???????? Jai Siya Ram,” she captioned her post.
However, people have taken to the comment section to request Kriti to accept the fact that the movie was a terrible mistake and move on.

Meanwhile, T-Series has sent an apology letter to the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah and Film Development Board of Nepal for unintentionally hurting the sentiments of the people of Nepal.
All Hindi films, including Adipurush, were banned in Nepal on Monday following a controversy over its dialogues, including the mention of Sita as India’s daughter.
