‘Adipurush’ makers accused of copying Prabhas poster design – Times of India
‘Adipurush’ poster featuring Prabhas with a bow and arrow is at the centre of this controversy. An Instagram user had tagged an animation studio and called out the similarity between Prabhas’ poster and that of the Lord Shiva artwork created by Vaanar Sena Studios. Acknowledging the same, the studio had re-shared the collage on social media.
Recently, Ayodhya Ram temple chief priest Satyendra Das had demanded an immediate ban on the movie. While addressing the media, he stated that the depiction of Lord Ram and Hanuman in Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ is not what it has been described in the epic and it violates their dignity. While Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra had warned the makers of ‘Adipurush’ of legal action if scenes showing Hindu religious figures in the ‘wrong’ way were not removed. He had said, “I have seen the trailer of Adipurush. There are objectionable scenes in it. Hanuman ji is shown wearing leather, whereas the description (in the scriptures) of the deity’s costume is different… These are scenes that hurt religious sentiments. I am writing a letter to Om Raut to remove all such scenes from the film. If not removed, we will consider legal action.” ‘Adipurush’ features Prabhas as Lord Ram while Saif essaying Ravan and Kriti Sanon portrays Sita.
