Alia also discussed her weight loss since giving birth to Raha, claiming that she had to lose weight because of films.

According to the actor, new mothers put a lot of pressure on themselves to return to their pre-pregnancy appearance. Alia Bhatt went on to say that because movies are a visual medium, she has to look appealing and thus had to lose weight after Raha’s birth on November 6, 2022. In a new interview, Alia admitted to enjoying food and discussed the pressures that women face even before pregnancy as a result of social media in today’s age.

Alia also acknowledged the massive struggle that female actresses face when they put on weight post their pregnancies. She said that it was slightly unfair that they were forced to look conventionally attractive for their respective films. She said that it was a huge pressure for them to cater to these requirements put forth by the producers and filmmakers.

Alia further spoke about new moms keeping their bodies ‘safe’, and added that she works out now to be healthy and not to become thin or make her waist look smaller.
