AC Milan are stepping up their interest in Naby Keita, according to a report.
Keita has struggled massively for form since joining Liverpool for £52.75million in 2018, managing just 127 appearances for the club in five years, with almost half of them coming from the bench.
The midfielder is expected to leave the Reds for free in the summer, and, according to The Mirror via Liverpool Echo, Milan are ready to make their move to convince Keita to join the side.
When the 28-year-old joined Liverpool, he arrived with high expectations following a spell of impressive showings for RB Leipzig in Germany.
But he has failed to impress despite winning the Premier League and the Champions League during his time on Merseyside, struggling with injuries throughout his stay.

It is understood that Leipzig are keen on taking him back to the Bundesliga, but Milan are currently ahead in the race for his signature.
It was reported that Leipzig made a move for his services in January, but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was keen for him to stay with Liverpool already light in midfield.
But there have been no signs of Keita putting pen to paper on a new contract at Anfield, and he is free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with another club abroad.
It’s understood there are several other sides interested in signing the Guinea international.
Milan are currently sixth in Serie A, and are enduring a difficult season under Stefano Pioli after winning the league last year.
They lost 1-0 to rivals Inter on Sunday, their fourth defeat in a row, after heavy losses to Sassuolo, Lazio, and Inter again in the cup.
