Abhishek Bachchan reacts to Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘baap hamesha baap’ tweet on Amitabh Bachchan’s Deewaar, Bob Biswas scenes
Actor Abhishek Bachchan has responded to filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh’s remark on his father, actor Amitabh Bachchan. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Sujoy had shared a fan-made collage of two scenes from Amitabh’s Deewaar and Abhishek’s Bob Biswas.
In the scenes from their movies, Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan are seen with their heads under a tap as the water – while Amitabh gulps down water, Abhishek washes away his blood-smeared face.
Sujoy captioned the picture, “Whoever made this … thank you. Nice to dream lekin (but)… baap hamesha baap hota hai (a father will always remain a father)! #webowtoDeewaar #BobBiswas.” Reacting to the tweet, Abhishek replied, “Big Bob!”
Bob Biswas is the directorial debut of Sujoy’s daughter Diya Annapurna Ghosh. The upcoming project revolves around the contract killer Bob Biswas featured originally in Vidya Balan’s hit Kahaani. The role was essayed by Saswata Chatterjee in the film. The spin-off, which features Abhishek in the lead role, will be out on ZEE5 on December 3.
Recently, news agency ANI quoted Sujoy speaking on his reaction to Diya’s first-ever script, “Once Diya gave me a script of a short film… I found it as one of the worst scripts I have ever read, but I didn’t have the heart to tell her that…but when she went back, made that film… it turned out to be dark, humourous and I was really impressed, and that was probably one of the reasons I thought that the kind of dark humour Bob Biswas needs is in her generation. If today, Diya wouldn’t have chosen to do this film, I would have still preferred someone of Diya’s age and generation.”
In an interview with PTI, Sujoy had also said that he had approached Abhishek for the role of Bob Biswas while making Kahaani but he couldn’t do the film due to scheduling issues. The 2012 thriller was headlined by actor Vidya Balan, who played Vidya Bagchi, a pregnant woman searching for her missing husband in Kolkata.
“I had given this script to this actor, who was so busy at that time he couldn’t do it. Then I thought let’s make it about Vidya Bagchi only, keep him out. When I started creating the new Bob, I went back to that same person and asked him if he would do it now, if he has the dates. He immediately said yes. That was Abhishek,” he had added.
