A day after wedding, husband uses Bengaluru traffic jam to flee from wife
Police is trying to nab the runaway groom after a complaint was filed on March 5. According to the report, when the couple was returning from a church visit a day after their wedding, their vehicle got stuck near Pai Layout for about 10 minutes. In a sudden turn of events, the husband, who was on the front seat, opened the door and ran away. Shocked, his wife too got off the car and tried chasing him down, but couldn’t catch up.
According the to wife, her husband, from, Chikkaballapur district, was said to be under distress as his former lover was allegedly threatening to go public with videos and photographs of their private moments.
“I was informed about this affair even before the marriage, but I agreed to marry him as he had promised to leave her,” the wife said, adding: “Fearing this [blackmail], George ran away. He was also showing suicidal tendencies. Hope he is safe and will return soon.”
When he told her about being blackmailed by his former lover, the wife said that both she and her parents assured him that they would stand by him and that he need not worry.
