Rodrigo de Paul offered an emphatic riposte to his doubters after Argentina’s World Cup triumph on Sunday, bluntly telling them to ‘suck my d*ck.’

The midfielder was criticised towards the start of the tournament for his occasionally wayward passing, but grew into the tournament as his side did and was a vital cog in the knockout rounds.

De Paul had not forgotten his critics after the win, as he was filmed on Instagram with teammate Nicolas Otamendi shouting ‘we are in the history forever. Whoever doubted me, s*ck my dick.’

Otamendi laughed along with the Atletico Madrid midfielder as they showed off their winners medals in the changing room at the Lusail Stadium.

Argentina’s win came after one of the most thrilling World Cup finals in history, as they raced into a 2-0 lead before half time through Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria.
