Anand Mahindra praises Japanese people for values “worthy of a global audience”

Everytime the Japanese attend a global event, they leave everyone in awe of their compassion and cleanliness. This time, at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, they’ve wowed Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra.

Mahindra took to Twitter to praise the East Asians’ spirit, sharing a video of Japanese fans picking up trash post the Qatar-Ecuador game on Sunday.

Shot by Qatarliving.com, the video featuring Japanese fans featured one woman saying that they never leave rubbish behind. Japanese spectators also said they were not doing it for the camera and simply respected the place.

Praising the Japanese, Anand Mahindra wrote that their values were “worthy of a global audience.”

The person taking the video stated that, at first, he thought only one or two Japanese people were picking up trash. However, he said the Japanese people all over the stadium were doing the same thing, which blew him away.

He further said that he had heard about what the Japanese people were doing but never thought it was real. They also picked up flags from the ground and placed them on the chairs.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup began on November 20, with the opening game between Ecuador and Qatar, which the host country lost by 2-0.

Japan plays its first game today against Germany, while Qatar will play next on Novemeber 25, against Senegal. Qatar currently finds itself at the bottom of Group A, with Netherlands and Ecuador sitting top.
