Jaideep Ahlawat opens up on being rejected for roles, says part and parcel of the game – Times of India

In an industry being constantly accused of nepotism, Jaideep Ahlawat has managed to sail through by sheer talent. Giving notable performances in film like Gangs of Wasseypur, Commando: A One Man Army, Raazi and a lot more, this actor, originally from Rohtak, has managed to survive and how! However, his journey has been far from smooth.

In an interview to PinkVilla, Jaideep says that initially, being rejected for roles hit him hard, but eventually he learnt to take it all in his stride. He says that over the last few years, he has stopped fighting for things that he has no control over, rather he wants to give what he has, the best shot.

Opening up about the films he has been rejected for, Jaideep mentioned “Ishqiya” saying that he had to be shown the door despite a great audition. Similarly, he also auditioned for Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, but things did not work out. Jaideep says that eventually you are being rejected for a character and not as an actor per se and this understanding provided him with the much needed solace.

On the workfront, Jaideep will soon be seen in Pataal Lok Season 2 and Sujoy Ghosh’s Devotion. He will also be seen in an action flick with Ayushmann Khurrana.
