Darren Bent has urged Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel to give Armando Broja an opportunity after the striker’s impressive loan spell at Southampton.
The Albanian international scored six goals in 32 Premier League appearances for the Saints last season, springing him into contention for a place in the Blues’ squad this year.
Yet there has been widespread speculation that a departure from Stamford Bridge may be on the cards for the 20-year-old this summer.

However former Tottenham striker Bent believes that Broja deserves a run in the Chelsea side. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: ‘Why have they not brought Broja back?
‘He’s a perfect centre-forward. It looks like they are going to let him go. Give him a go.
‘If they create chances for him, he will score goals. He showed that at Southampton.’

Chelsea are in desperate need of some firepower following Romelu Lukaku’s loan return to Inter Milan earlier in the window.
Midfielder Mason Mount was the Blues’ top scorer in the Premier League last term as he netted 11 goals, while Tuchel’s apparent first-choice No 9 Kai Havertz recorded just eight top-flight strikes.
Raheem Sterling’s £50million arrival from Manchester City is an attempt to address the issue, but Chelsea still require an out-and-out goalscorer to challenge City and Liverpool.
There have been question marks over Tuchel’s side’s firepower heading into the new campaign
Broja was part of the Blues’ pre-season training camp in the US this month but flew home early from the trip to secure a move to West Ham.
Yet the deal remains up in the air as Chelsea would like a loan, while it has been reported that Broja favours a permanent switch to the Hammers.
There is also the stumbling block of Gianluca Scamacca’s imminent £30.5m arrival at the London Stadium, with it uncertain whether David Moyes’ side will still be in for Broja.
