‘Itna wicket lenge, England dhuan dhuan ho jaayega’: Netizens erupt after Jasprit Bumrah’s game-changing spell
It’s not the pitch, it is always the quality of the bowler. On one of the flattest decks on Day 5 at the Oval, Team India turned to their lead bowler Jasprit Bumrah and the pacer didn’t disappoint. The visitors had taken the big wicket of opening batsman Haseeb Hameed after the lunch break and they had skipper Joe Root and the new batsman Ollie Pope in front of them.
Bumrah came back for his first spell after lunch and ruined England’s tea, dinner and all the meals further in the day. A charged-up Bumrah took two wickets in two consecutive overs to severely dent any hopes of England coming back into the game.
Ollie Pope was caught off-guard by the incoming delivery from Bumrah that shaped in just enough to go through his defense eas he played the wrong line and England had now lost two wickets after lunch as the match had started to slip away from them.
If it hadn’t till then, Bumrah ensured that it did in his next over with an absolute peach of a yorker to bamboozle Jonny Bairstow for a duck as the hosts had half their team back in the pavilion.

Bumrah’s spell read 6-3-6-2 as England slumped to 146/5 from 146/3 in a span of three overs as the game turned on its head.
The fans couldn’t stop themselves from praising the Indian pacer, while one compared him to god, others congratulated him on completing 100 wickets in Test matches with Pope’s wicket, while many came up with hilarious memes.
