‘Samrat Prithviraj’ Box Office Collection: Akshay Kumar starrer performs poorly in its second week – Times of India

Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar starrer ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ has faced a huge fall at the box office in its second week. Due to Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, the Akshay Kumar starrer failed to perform well at the box office.

According to Boxofficeindia.com, the film had a huge fall in the second week as collections came down 80% from the first week. It managed to collect Rs 10.75 crore in the second week which has taken its total to Rs 66 crore.

The report suggests that it might end up earning Rs 3-4 crore which may take the total to Rs 70 crore. The collections of ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ are as follows:

Week One – 54,47,00,000

Friday – 1,50,00,000 apprx

Saturday – 2,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday – 3,25,00,000 apprx

Monday – 1,00,00,000 apprx

Tuesday – 90,00,000 apprx

Wednesday – 90,00,000 apprx

Thursday – 80,00,000 apprx

Second Week – 65,82,00,000 apprx

TOTAL – 62,72,00,000 apprx

Due to poor performance, the film’s shows in many circuits were cancelled and flushed out due to zero occupancy to make way for more commercially viable shows of other films. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film opened in theatres on June 3 where it clashed with two films from different territories – the trilingual ‘Major’ and the pan-India ‘Vikram’ starring Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi.
