Netflix account hacked? Here’s how you can find out
If you notice any unwanted activities on your Netflix account, try these simple ways to find out if you have been hacked.
Has your Netflix account been hacked? It might be possible that some freeloader might be watching Stranger Things and other shows on your tab that too for free! While Netflix has banned the password sharing feature outside household, suspicious activity on your streaming service account can be painful. Hence, if you notice any unauthorized access to your streaming account, here’s what you should do.
New style or profile is a red flag
If you notice any new style or new profile pic to your Netflix home screen, someone might have infiltrated your account. Check with your friends and family who got access to your profile if they’ve added or removed a new profile. If they did not then you must get alarmed and quickly delete it and set up a new password. To delete a profile on Netflix, You’ll have to visit Netflix web browser, click on your profile icon, tap Manage Profiles and delete the rogue profiles.

Do check your mail for Netflix login alert on new device
Netflix sends out an email alert whenever your account is logged in on a “new” device. It provide information on the type of the device, location and date of sign-in. If you get any such alert mail or messages, go to your Account page via any web browser and head to Recent device streaming activity under Settings. You will see where, when and how people have been streaming from your Netflix account. If you notice something unusual, it’s time for a password update and sign out of all devices to ensure that once you change your password, everyone has to login from scratch. Review your billing statement
Do check your billing statement every month whether you have opted for a Netflix auto-renewal subscription or not. This should be done even if your account was hacked and you canceled Netflix as someone may still be streaming shows while you’re being charged for it. All you have to do is change your password and email address to restrict any unwanted activities.
