WhatsApp users may soon get these new filters – Times of India
WhatsApp is reportedly planning to add new search filters that will make it easier for users to find certain chats. As per a report by WABetaInfo, the Facebook owned platform is working to introduce advanced search filters that are currently available for business accounts on WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and desktop.
For those who are unaware, the advanced filters make it easier to search for unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups. As per the screenshot shared in the report, users will be able to see a new filter button at the top of the page once the feature is available. Tapping on the button will show you options that you can use to filter chats.
To look for a particular chat more precisely, you will be able to combine the filters along with the keyword search. The report suggests that the new filter button will be always visible even when you are not searching for chats.
The company has not yet revealed any details about this feature officially but it is expected that we may be able to try it with the upcoming updates. Apart from this, WhatsApp is also planning to expand the functionality of the multi-device feature with a new Companion mode.
The Companion mode will allow users to link their primary smartphone with a WhatsApp account on another smartphone. Switching to Companion mode will, however, log you out from your WhatsApp account on your primary device. Since the feature is currently under development, there are not many details available about how the feature is different from registering the app in another smartphone. The feature may also help users to migrate from Android to iOS smartphones.
