Reports: Ukraine-Scotland World Cup qualifying game postponed
FIFA has postponed a World Cup qualifying game between Scotland and Ukraine later this month because of Russia’s invasion of the latter country, according to multiple reports.

The two sides were scheduled to meet in a playoff semifinal on March 24 in Scotland with the winner facing the winner of a match between Austria and Wales on March 29 for a spot in the World Cup.
With the 2022 World Cup draw scheduled to take place April 1, three teams will now not be known — the winner of this playoff section as well as the two intercontinental playoff winners from June.
BBC reports June is the most likely option for the Scotland-Ukraine game and the ensuring fixture with Austria or Wales.
ESPN says almost all of Ukraine’s players remain in the country.
Russia’s World Cup qualifying bid also is up in the air with FIFA suspending the country’s participation from all events. Russia has filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport ahead of a March 24 qualifying game against Poland.
