fifa game: The next Fifa game may come with crossplay support, claims report – Times of India
The next Fifa game, which could be titled Fifa 23, could come with crossplay support for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, as per the claims of reliable tipster Tom Henderson via a report on XFire. If it is true, it would be the first time crossplay would come to a Fifa game and players across the three platforms would be able to join in together. The report does not mention anything in particular about the Nintendo Switch.
The report claims that the new title is set to come out this year and would lay more focus on women’s football, with a women’s World Cup to be included. Moreover, the report claims that in addition to the two World Cups, EA is also “expanding its licensing partnership across all the major leagues to drive and build a single FIFA experience that brings males and females together.”
Next, the report claims tha the Hypermotion Technology for Fifa 23 has been “enhanced tenfold” and “now allows the development team to capture animations from real footballers in real matches using stadium cameras, eliminating the need for Xsens suits.” The Hypermotion technology was first introduced in Fifa 22. For this in-game tech, EA performed motion capture on 22 professional footballers and used machine learning from over 8.7 million frames to create animations in real time. The inclusion of the Hypermotion technology was done to make the gameplay more realistic and immersive in every match and across every mode.
There is also the issue of the branding. EA could opt for a new name for the next Fifa game and as per recent trademark filings, may call the series ‘EASports FC’.
