‘Badhaai Do’ song ‘Atak Gaya’ sets the mood right before Valentine’s Day as Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar fall in love with their partners; WATCH – Times of India

Junglee Pictures and the makers of ‘Badhaai Do’ has unveiled a new love anthem ‘Atak Gaya’ right before Valentine’s week. Featuring Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao, the song is all about the thin line between love and friendship.

Crooned by Arijit Singh, ‘Atak Gaya’ is composed by Amit Trivedi and written by Varun Grover. The video begins with a glimpse of Bhumi and Raj from their lavender marriage and focuses on romantic moments of Bhumi with her girlfriend, followed by Raj who is head over heels for another man.

Sharing the song, Bhumi wrote on social media, “For those who are happily stuck in love and friendship !❤️ Amit Trivedi and Arijit Singh’s #AtakGaya song out now! #BadhaaiDoInCinemas on 11th Feb.”

Helmed by filmmaker Harshavardhan Kulkarni, ‘Badhaai Do’ is the the official sequel to Ayushmann Kurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Sanya Malhotra’s 2018 hit ‘Badhaai Ho’ that fetched the National Awards for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Supporting Actress.

Besides Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, ‘Badhaai Do’ also stars Chum Darang, Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chadha, Lovleen Mishra, Nitish Pandey and Shashi Bhushan in pivotal roles. Going by the trailer, the film focuses on a marriage of convenience aka an ‘atrangi wedding’ in a ‘satrangi setting’.

Talking about the film, Rajkummar Rao recently opened up about his character and shared with ETimes, “I would say this is one of the most layered characters that I have portrayed. Of course, the humour aspect is most noticeable, but there’s so much more that’s going on within him. We just wanted to normalise his sexuality, we never wanted to focus on just the part that he’s gay. There’s so much more to him than that. It was really fun playing Shardul. It was a challenging character, too. That muscular physique wasn’t easy, plus working with Harsh (Harshavardhan Kulkarni), it’s never that easy.”

‘Baadhai Do’ will hit the theater screens on February 11.
