Deepika Padukone reveals Ranveer Singh always believed that Shakun Batra and she would make a great film together even before ‘Gehraiyaan’ happened – Times of India

The makers of Shakun Batra’s ‘Gehraiyaan’ unveiled the much-awaited trailer of the Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday starrer.

At the virtual trailer launch of the movie, Deepika revealed, “Shakun has been on my list. Ranveer would say Shakun and you would make a great film together. I met Shakun a few years ago, and we hit it off instantly. Deep down I knew we would make a film someday. It didn’t feel like a director pitching an idea. It felt like a friend. The film has evolved from what it was when I first heard it. We had trust and faith in each other and that’s why we could make such a brave film.”

While Siddhant made his debut with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ starring Ranveer Singh, Ananya Panday debuted with ‘Student of The Year 2’ with Tara Sutaria and Tiger Shroff.

This is the first time Deepika, Siddhant and Ananya will be seen sharing the screen space in a film. It is slated for a release on an OTT platform on February 11. It also features Dhariya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapur in key roles.

Apart from this, Deepika has films like Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathan’ with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham and ‘Fighter’ with Hrithik Roshan. She will also be seen reuniting with her ‘Piku’ co-star in ‘The Intern’ remake and Nag Ashwin’s untitled next with Prabhas.
