Is Ranveer Singh starrer ’83 getting a sequel based on the 2011 World Cup? Here’s what director Kabir Khan has to say! – Times of India
Spilling some beans on the same, Kabir Khan told a news portal that as of now he is still stuck in 1983. As far as the World Cup of 2011 is concerned, it is not a sequel but a separate story in itself. However, Khan added that he is not thinking about it right now as he is totally focused on ’83 and he just can’t wait for the world to see it.
Kabir had earlier stated in many interviews that he is not very keen on making sequels.
Recently, Salman Khan announced that a sequel to ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is being written. When asked if he would like to direct it, the filmmaker added that he doesn’t feel that one should not make a sequel just because the last film was successful. Having said that, he also went on to say that if Vijayendra Prasad is writing a story and Salman is excited about it then it would be a great story. However, he has not heard it yet and he doesn’t even know that something is being written.
Although he is not very eager to direct sequels, if the story excites him, as a filmmaker then he will definitely jump for it.
‘83’ has Ranveer Singh playing the role of Kapil Dev in the movie. It also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem and others in key roles. Deepika Padukone is co-producing the movie.
