From grooming the young guns of India to even coaching the Indian men’s cricket squad in their Sri Lanka tour, Rahul Dravid is one cricketer who is looked up to with a lot of respect.
However, so when a video of him, donning another role went online, it was sure to go viral. In the video doing the rounds on social media, the ‘Indiranagar ka Gunda’ is seen playing the role of teacher to British High Commissioner to India – Alex Ellis.
Dravid was seen teaching him a phrase from the Kannada language, “Bega Odi”, meaning one run.
The video came to light after Alex Ellis took to his Twitter to shared the same. The post read, “Cricket expressions in Indian languages part 2. Today, we’re down south in Bengaluru. What better teacher than ‘The Coach’ #RahulDravid, who taught me this in #Kannada ಕನ್ನಡ”.

Meanwhile, as far as cricket is concerned, Dravid was part of the squad that had traveled to Sri Lanka for the limited-over series. While India won the ODI series by 2-1, they lost the T20I series by the same margin. The loss in the T20I series came after India had sent in a depleted team on the field after Krunal Pandya had test positive and members close to him were asked to quarantine.
Meanwhile, India and England are also taking on each other in the five-match Test series. The first Test which was played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham saw it end in a draw thanks to the rain.
India had needed 157 runs to win on Day 5, whereas England required nine wickets to seal the deal.
