Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Arsenal’s current second-choice goalkeeper Matt Turner.
There is currently a gap in valuations regarding a deal for Turner but discussions are ongoing.
Brentford are holding out for their £40million valuation of Raya, with the goalkeeper having previously said that he wants to leave the club in search of silverware.
Raya would have to consider how much pitch time he would get at Arsenal, while the Gunners need to think about how much they are able to spend.
Given his distribution skills, Raya would be well suited to Mikel Arteta’s style of play at Arsenal.
Turner joined Arsenal last year from New England Revolution but didn’t make a Premier League appearance, although he did play seven times in cup games.
The 29-year-old hasn’t yet featured for Arsenal in pre-season following his involvement with the USA at the Gold Cup.
Raya, who has been capped twice by Spain, played every game in the league for Brentford last season.

He signed for Brentford from Blackburn Rovers in 2019 and has one year remaining on his contract.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted that it is an ‘open secret’ that Brentford are willing to sell Raya for the right price.
He said: ‘I think it’s natural that he would like to leave if it’s a good opportunity for him.
‘We all think it’s a good idea at the right price.’
