Fulham edged out west London rivals Brentford in a 3-2 victory as the club’s met in Philadelphia as part of the Premier League’s Summer Series.
In an entertaining clash, Carlos Vinicius’ early second half strike turned out to be the winner for the Cottagers, on a day that boss Marco Silva confirmed he is staying at the club.
The Fulham boss had been the subject of an approach from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahil, but the Portuguese gaffer has rejected the £40m two-year deal to continue his work at Craven Cottage.
In 30 plus degree heat, it was Fulham who made the perfect start to the game when Harry Wilson opened the scoring just three minutes into the game.
The Welsh international setting the tone for a thrilling meeting between the sides with a wonder strike from the edge of the box that sailed into the far corner of the net.

It wasn’t long before the Bees drew level though, as Keane Lewis-Potter’s clever header was put in at the back post by Yoane Wissa on 17 minutes.
Bobby Decordova-Reid restored Fulham’s lead before the break with a low drive into debutant Mark Flekken’s net, before Vinicius hit what turned out to be the winner just minutes after being introduced at the break.
Vinicius’ caressed finish was immediately followed by Kristoffer Ajer pulling one back for Brentford at the other end, but Fulham held on for the win.
Marco Silva’s afternoon wasn’t all straight forward however, as Joao Palhinha was forced off in the first half after a collision with Yoane Wissa.
The Portuguese midfielder left the pitch with his arm in a sling with concerns that he may have suffered a separated shoulder. Giving Silva a real blow ahead of Fulham’s season opener away at Everton next month.

Palhinha’s injury wasn’t the only the only disappointment in Philadelphia with rumours that the club are set to agree a fee with Saudi side Al-Hilal for Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Serbian striker is currently in the US with Fulham, but hasn’t trained with the team and was omitted from today’s friendly.
Both Brentford and Fulham will continue their pre-season tour of the US as part of the summer series this week, with the Bees playing Brighton on Wednesday and Fulham taking on Aston Villa a day later.
