Arshad Warsi recalls Jeetendra telling him, ‘Yeh sab na ek din chala jayega, tere pass kaam hi nahi hoga’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

It hadn’t been easy for Arshad Warsi, be it his personal life or career. He has learned things the hard way. Over the years, he proved his mettle as an actor and went on to become a popular face in the industry with films like Munna Bhai, Golmaal and now Asur to his name. In a new interview, Arshad recalled the time when veteran actor Jeetendra gave him a piece of advice that helped him stay strong during his struggling days.
Speaking to Humans Of Bombay, Arshad said that he was out of work for 3-4 years before Munna Bhai happened. Recalling what he noticed at that time, Arshad said that when his Tere Mere Sapne was released, everybody used to look at him say, ‘This guys is damn good. He is great at comedy, dances well, does action as well.’
At that time, when Arshad would enter a party, everybody would be around him. When his movies started dying, he would see people running away from him thinking that he might ask them for work. Arshad said that he has never asked anybody for work.He then opened up about meeting Jeetendra at a party after his Tere Mere Sapne became a hit and he had signed a bunch of movies. “He told me, ‘Yeh sab na ek din chala jayega. Tere pass kaam hi nahi hoga. And that is the time when you have to be strong. When you have nothing and that time you give up, you will go down and never come up,'” Arshad recalled.
He then explained what Jeetendra meant was these are times when you give up and you start making wrong decisions, you start doing bad films, you start things that you shouldn’t be doing and once you do that it is hard to come back.
Arshad said that it was a very profound advice. And then he added that if you don’t know your work, you will fade away when your body of work stops getting you work. But if you know your work, you will go a long way.
