‘The title Krrish was suggested by Hrithik Roshan,’ reveals writer Sanjay Masoom – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News – Times of India
“I have a lot of memories as it was my first film with Rakesh Roshan,” he says.”It was a big challenge for me. There was fear inside me as Krrish was a big film, also the first superhero film, so what should be the language of the film and all that. So, I put in extra effort. When I narrated the first five scenes to Rakesh Ji, he liked them very much and said, ‘Waah!’ Then we moved forward. Everyone worked very hard a lot on that film.”
A team of writers would sit with Rakesh Roshan for brainstorming. Sachin Bhowmick, Honey Irani, Robin Bhatt, Sanjay Masoom and a string of assistants would put their head together for the film. “I was the only one writing the dialogue. The writing sessions used to be very interesting and fun because everyone embraced the challenge,” explains Masoom.
Sanjay recalls Rakesh Roshan was not initially happy with the dialogues of the second half. “When I wrote the dialogue of the first half, Rakesh Ji liked them. But he didn’t like the dialogue of the second half at all. So, I was a bit tense. At that time, every dialogue writer wanted to write Krrish. I felt that it would be problematic. But then Rakesh Ji said, ‘You go to Khandala and write there in solitude.’ So, I went to Khandala for fifteen days and rewrote the second half, came back to narrate it to him and he liked it. I had great fun working on Krrish.”
Sanjay Maasom also revealed that Hrithik would be very involved in writing. “It was a new challenge for him as well. So, he used to sit in the writing sessions regularly. If I remember correctly, I think, the title Krrish was suggested by Hrithik only,” he concludes.
