Chelsea are trying to secure the signing of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in a deal worth in excess of £80million.
Talks have been ongoing for weeks but, with Bayern Munich in the wings, Caicedo has indicated he would like to join Chelsea.
Different Chelsea players have been proposed in discussions. Brighton want defender Levi Colwill, and have had a £30m offer rejected as Chelsea don’t want to sell, while Conor Gallagher is also of interest but would struggle to fit into Brighton’s wage structure.
Mail Sport revealed earlier this month that Chelsea had gone back in for Caicedo after PSG beat them to signature of Manuel Ugarte, with the Blues having had a £55m bid rejected by Brighton in January.
Arsenal and Manchester United have both previously shown interest in the Seagulls star – who only signed a new deal at the Amex in March.

But Chelsea remain hopeful of signing the youngster, having had ongoing talks with Brighton chiefs for weeks.
A fee has not been agreed yet but, with the player preferring a move to Stamford Bridge, there is optimism that a deal will get done.
Brighton, who qualified for the Europa League, have already sold Caicedo’s regular midfield partner Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool for £35m.
They will hold out for as high a fee as possible as they look to build a squad to compete in the Europa League, having finished an impressive sixth last season.
