Amazon announced job cuts in India
According to reports, Amazon is currently undergoing employee layoffs in India across various businesses and functions, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), human resources, and support functions. The company, based in Seattle, is said to be reducing its workforce by at least 500 employees in India, with the process still ongoing. These layoffs are part of the additional job cuts announced by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy in late March, which are expected to affect approximately 9,000 employees worldwide. This marks the second round of layoffs at Amazon India in recent months. Globally, the company has plans to eliminate around 27,000 jobs.
