Lal Jose, who stepped into the entertainment industry in the late 1980s, has now emerged as a household name for the Malayali movie buffs. He began his career assisting ace filmmaker Kamal. In 1998, his first independent film as a director – ‘Oru Maravathoor Kanavu’ got released. Scripted by Sreenivasan, the film featured Mammootty, Biju Menon, Mohini, Divya Unni, Sreenivasan, Kalabhavan Mani, Sukumari, and Nedumudi Venu among others in the lead roles. ‘Oru Maravathoor Kanavu’ grabbed eyeballs and also was a blockbuster. Following the success of the Mammootty starrer, he directed ‘Chandranudikkunna Dikkil’, which too clicked with the audience. It was the 2002 release ‘Meesa Madhavan’ starring Dileep, Jagathy Sreekumar, and Kavya Madhavan, that made Lal Jose a popular name in the industry. He later delivered award winning films like ‘Achanurangatha Veedu’, ‘Classmates’, and ‘Ayalum Njanum Thammil’ among others.

On the work front, Lal Jose’s latest release was ‘Solamante Theneechakal’.
