UFC legend Nate Diaz has turned himself over to police in the early hours of Thursday morning after an arrest warrant was issued.
Diaz surrendered himself to the New Orleans Police Department and was charged with second-degree battery, per court records cited by TMZ.
The MMA free agent’s representative Zach Rosenfield told the outlet Diaz gave himself over to authorities around 8:10am ET.
‘We continue to look forward to presenting all the evidence and videos that show Nate was acting in self-defense.’
The arrest warrant was issued Monday, two days following a video of him choking out a man during a scuffle on the famed Bourbon Street.
At present, Diaz remains in police custody. Footage which went viral and social media showed the Californian putting Rodney Peterson, a boxer with a 1-0 professional record, to sleep.
