Plan is not about earning: Akshay Kumar’s old video goes viral as Sidharh Malhotra replaces him in ‘Rowdy Rathore’ sequel – Times of India

Earlier this morning, it has been confirmed that Sidharth Malhotra has replaced Akshay Kumar in the sequel to ‘Rowdy Rathore’. Producers Shabina Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are working on the sequel to this blockbuster but sans Akshay.
Amidst this news, an old video of Akshay Kumar speaking about ‘Rowdy Rathore 2’ has gone viral. The actor had spoken about it while promoting ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ with his director Chandraprakash Dwivedi. He had spoken about his choices and said that, he chooses to do films like ‘Padman’ or ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ because these are important stories to tell. “I could easily make a ‘Rowdy Rathore 2’ or a ‘Singh Is King 2’ and earn four times more than what I earn in these films but the plan is not about earning. The plan is about doing something where the society can understand about our field and our people,” said Akshay. Watch the video here:

Meanwhile, Akshay is currently working on ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan 2’ and his film ‘OMG Oh My God 2’ will also see a release this year. As far as ‘Rowdy Rathore’ 2 is concerned, while Prabhu Deva had directed the first part, Anees Bazmee is being considered for the sequel. The buzz is that Kiara Advani would be cast opposite Sidharth Malhotra in the film.
