Kell Brook hints at fight with Conor Benn by tagging him and claiming there is ‘massive news’
Kell Brook has teased a potential fight with Conor Benn by tagging his fellow Briton in a social media post that states there is ‘massive news’ coming.
The former welterweight world champion hinted at a return to the ring on Monday afternoon when he took to social media to share a cryptic video message.
Brook was filmed alongside his nutritionist Greg Marriott when tagged Benn and revealed there was ‘massive, massive news’ on the horizon.
Marriott also shared a clip claiming Brook was heading ‘off on a little training camp’ before sharing a snap of them sitting on the plane.
Brook and Benn have been linked with fighting in the past but the 36-year-old decided to retire from boxing after defeating Amir Khan.

However, Brook has admitted to struggling with his mental health after hanging up his gloves and revealed he would be open to returning to the ring.
Meanwhile, Benn is looking to return to the canvas after failing two drugs tests last year.
Benn tested positive for the banned substance clomifene last year, causing his grudge match with Chris Eubank Jr to be cancelled in October.
Last month, he was cleared by the WBC to return to the ring after the sanctioning body accepted that the Brit’s ‘highly-elevated consumption of eggs’ was a ‘reasonable explanation’ for his positive tests.
Benn has since blamed the failed drugs tests on laboratory errors, and denied mentioning the consumption of eggs as a possible reason.
The 26-year-old is now targeting a comeback in June, and his promoter Hearn is adamant that the drugs testing authorities will be keeping a very close eye on Benn in the lead-up to his next fight.

Speaking to TalkSPORT about Benn last week, Brook said: ‘I think I’ve just been pushed and prodded by a fella we all know now, Conor Benn.
‘You know, a fighter’s a fighter, it’s always in me and I love the challenges. I’d love to show this young Benn what time it is.
‘But, obviously we’ve got to sit down with his boss, Eddie Hearn, and his manager and come up with my service fee, which is going to be quite decent.’
Brook continued: ‘This is my game, I’ve done it many times before and I know I had to just put myself in that prison and give myself completely and utterly to the sport and put everything into it.
‘I know in my heart and I do believe that I would beat Conor Benn. I am still in my mind the best welterweight/ light middleweight out there, definitely in Britain anyway.
‘And like I said if we do sit down and I get that excitement once again and I take my slippers off and put my trainers back on then we could see me running them roads again maybe.’
Meanwhile, Benn said he would ‘really’ like to fight Brook after watching him destroy Amir Khan at the AO Arena in Manchester in February 2022.
The Sheffield fighter was dominant from start to finish, hurting Khan badly in the first round, before the referee finally waved it off in the sixth round.
As result, Benn – who was commentating on the fight – said he would like to take on Brook, claiming it would be a ‘good test’.
Benn even praised Brook for his ‘timing’ and ‘accuracy’ against Khan, claiming the Sheffield born boxer looked ‘sharp’.
TalkSPORT caught up with Benn after the Brook vs Khan fight. They asked Benn what weight he would fight Brook at.

Been said: ‘I would fight him at 150. It don’t bother me or my team. It really don’t. I am tied into DAZN but I will leave that to them. I want to get stuck straight in. I fancy that fight next.
‘I just messaged my trainer. I fancy that fight next. That’s what I said. If I have to wait, I will wait. If I don’t, then I don’t. I just want that fight.
‘He claims to be the best in Britain. He looked unbelievable tonight, he looks in shape, he looked great on the scales.
‘Now that is me challenging myself against a former world champion who claims to be the best. Idols to rivals, that’s what it is.’
